About Us
IDMforums.com, launched in 2006, was created as a hub for electronic music producers, with a focus on the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) genre. It quickly became a vibrant community where artists could share their work, exchange ideas, and collaborate. The forum fostered a culture of experimentation and innovation, with members exploring a wide range of electronic music styles.
In 2008, two forum members, Fidelium (Wayne Baker) and Permutated (Nathan Schwartz), founded the IDMf Netlabel to showcase the community's talent. The first release, IDMf001: In Depth Melodics, was a Various Artists compilation mastered by Matt Lange. This debut set the tone for the label's mission: to provide a platform for independent artists while allowing them to retain control of their music through Creative Commons licensing.
Over the years, the IDMf Netlabel released numerous albums and compilations, each reflecting the diverse sounds and creativity of its members. The label became known for its quality and originality, helping to launch the careers of several artists. Today, IDMforums.com and Glitchpulse Records remain important spaces for electronic music enthusiasts, continuing to nurture the next generation of electronic music producers.

FAQ
What kind of music do you release?
We focus on electronic and experimental sounds, with a particular love for IDM, glitch, ambient, and forward-thinking hybrids. If it’s sonically adventurous and emotionally rich, we’re interested.
Do you accept demos?
Yes. We’re always listening. Send us your best, most complete work (preferably not yet mastered) with a short intro and any relevant links or press. Please be patient — we’re a small team.
Do I need to get my release mastered before submitting?
No. In fact, we prefer to handle mastering ourselves so we can ensure consistency across our catalogue. We work with Millennium Mastering, and artists always have approval over the final version.
Who owns the music and artwork?
You retain full ownership of your music and any artwork you’ve created or commissioned. Glitchpulse is granted a non-exclusive license to distribute, promote, and feature your work as part of the label catalogue. You can still release elsewhere, and we’ll never restrict your creative rights.
How do royalties work?
Royalties from digital distribution platforms (e.g., Qobuz, Apple Music, Tidal etc) are paid directly to the artist by the distributor — Glitchpulse does not intercept or hold funds. In some cases (such as label-controlled Bandcamp releases), artists may choose between:
- Label Fund Model – All earnings go into the label fund to support promotion, tools, and future releases.
- Revenue Share Model (excluding multi-artist compilations) – We offer a 60/40 split (label/artist), after platform fees. Artists can choose this during onboarding.
What kind of promotion do you provide?
We promote releases via our website, Instagram, and trusted partners like Igloo Magazine. We also encourage community engagement through IDMForums.com, where many of our collaborators hang out. We're not a marketing agency — just music lovers — but we do our best to give your work a thoughtful and sincere push.
Is this a legally binding contract?
We use a simple "Heads of Agreement" to confirm the release and mutual expectations. It’s not a traditional record contract — more a good-faith understanding between two parties who want to do cool things together. Transparency and flexibility are key.
Can I be involved beyond my release?
Absolutely. We encourage artists to stay connected — through compilations, collaborations, forum activity, and community efforts. Glitchpulse is more than a label — it’s a space to create and support each other.
Submit Your Music
We’re always looking for boundary-pushing electronic artists working in IDM, glitch, ambient, experimental bass, and left-field sound design.
To keep everything clean and organised, we only accept demos through our Boombox submission portal so nothing gets lost across email, private links, or mismatched file-sharing services. We do not accept music made with AI music generators. All submissions will be checked with AI detection hardware.

Why does this label exist?
This label exists because I genuinely love the music and the people around it. It isn’t a commercial venture or a career move. It’s an outlet that enriches my life through discovering unheard music and giving it a platform within a community that cares.
What kind of artists are you looking for?
I’m drawn to artists who are self-reflective, easygoing, and open to collaboration. If your work fits the label’s aesthetic and sound, I won’t ask you to change it. If I believe something can be improved, I’ll say so, honestly and respectfully.
How involved are you creatively?
It varies. Sometimes the best contribution is to leave the work untouched. Other times, constructive feedback can elevate a release. Mutual trust and respect are essential.
What mindset doesn’t work well here?
If you believe your music can’t be questioned, this likely isn’t the right fit. We exist in a world of billions of tracks. The goal isn’t to rise above the noise, it’s to connect with a community that values what we do and let things grow organically.
Is the label commercially driven?
No. This isn’t my job, and it isn’t run for money. If you’re looking for a purely transactional or commercial relationship, there are labels better suited to that.
What does success look like?
Being able to look back at the end of the year and genuinely feel proud of what we made, and how we made it. Creative work should feel rewarding, not stressful.
If this approach resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you.
